Mission & Vision
The Gouldtown Community Church has a threefold mission:

First, We are committed to faithfully obeying Christ's Great Commission to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to do everything that our Lord Jesus Christ commanded, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Consequently, we endeavor to reach out and evangelize the world for Christ, starting with our local community, and through the support of missionary activities to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth. We are confident that through the power and authority bestowed upon Christ when he was resurrected we will be successful in this mission, and souls will be saved from the penalty and power of sin, to live forever in the presence of our Lord.

 

Second, we believe, as Luther declared, that the Church is the place "Where the Word of God is rightly preached." Salvation does not come through partaking in the sacraments of the Church, or through good works, but by grace through faith. And faith comes by the hearing of the word. Therefore, the central focus of our worship service is the preaching and teaching of the Scriptures. God's word is the final authority of the Christian life. As Christians we want to know it and apply it to our lives.

 

Third, the members of the Gouldtown Community Church want to worship God in spirit and in truth. Jesus told the woman at the well that the Father seeks individuals to worship Him in spirit and in truth. So we encourage one another to gather together in corporate worship to adore God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
